There are many lawyers who have engaged in political activities. The number of doctors in politics is highly reduced as compared to lawyers. There are many reasons as to why lawyers have the ability to engage in politics and remain successful (Moore, 2005). For instance, lawyers have a chance of networking with people as they deal with different cases. The lawyers will need a connected workforce in order to win over different cases. However, doctors will only network with patients over a limited period of time thus may not have tight connections with people as compared to lawyers. On the other hand, lawyers have confidence when talking to crowds of people an present their solid stance without any fear.
Lawyers have gone through legal training programs which have exposed them to different legal issues and how they should be solved. Lawyers are better placed in the society as their final judgment is not questioned by either the public or the government (Moore, 2005). During the course of performing their jobs, most lawyers assist politicians in making some decisions. In other terms, most lawyers have wide knowledge of the government structures, rules and laws as compared to doctors. While performing their duties, lawyers establish personal contacts with their clients.
Lawyers are also good in fundraising which implies that they have an opportunity of earning huge amounts of income. Based on the fact that politics require a financially stable person, lawyers are better placed as compared to doctors. Lawyers exhibit some of the signs that would make people in the public feel that they will be successful in politics (Moore, 2005). Conclusively, most lawyers are ambitious which implies that they will do anything just to win a given case. Lawyers easily convince the public given the set of qualities that they exhibit which makes it possible for them to become politicians.
