My GCU Experience
At GCU I’m currently enrolled for a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. Some of the courses I will be taking are Literacy and Language Arts, Social Studies, Applications of Algebra, and Psychology in Everyday Life. All of these classes are very important for teaching and I will be using them every day. I’m very excited to start these classes, because I want to be the most knowledgeable teacher I can be for my students.
The course that I anticipate to be the most challenging is Social Studies. I have never been good with this class it’s hard for me to retain the information. Luckily, GCU offers help in a couple ways. First, they offer tutoring for students, which is great for success! They also have the student library that you can go to at any time to look up information you need.
I would say the most important skills you need for this program are good studying skills and time management! I will gain these by staying motivated and remembering what my goals are. I can always go back to Chapter 4 also for some good advice on it. Effective time management will help me complete my program, because I will stay on top of all my work and not procrastinate, which will get me to my goal even quicker.
After reflecting on the key objectives, a takeaway for me is, if I have good studying and time management skills, it’s going to make me a better student. Those skills are going to help me be successful in my classes and program. Also, GCU is a great help with their resources. These skills are going to make my journey at GCU a great one.
