As teachers we play a huge role in the future of literacy in America and I plan to prepare my students to be the most successful as they can be. I think future students will have the most difficult time in all areas. Every student srtuggles on their own thing, from plagiarism to correct grammar and spelling. This is why as a teacher you have to prepare your students in every aspect. The most valuable thing from last week was how big plagiairism is and how important it is to teach your students young about it and how not to do it.

My current use of setting goals isn’t the best. I like to set goals for myself, short and long term, but I do it all in my head. I think it would be very successful if I at least started writing my goals down somewhere where I can see them everyday to also keep my motivated and to remind me of them. The SMART goal method I think is a great idea and will help me be more successful with my goals because it gives you a great structure on how to set goals. I think the time bound aspect of SMART is what I really need to work on also. I never really set a time stamp for my goals which is a big part of it.
