In what ways do people treat their own symptoms of anxiety disorders, and trauma and stress disorders? Review the case study of Rebecca, located under the Topic 6 topic materials. Provide and justify a diagnostic impression for Rebecca.

ANS:

Stress, trauma, and anxiety are normal reactions of humankind towards different experiences. But for those having the disorder of fear, and stress and trauma disorder, there is the persistence of symptoms, and even over time, the situation can worsen. Treatment of the disease can be done using medication, behavioral or through a combination of the two (NHS Lanarkshire ,2015 ). People having the disorder in most cases try to manage the situation by avoiding experiences and conditions that may cause the disease which is unfortunate for it can even make the symptoms more severe (APA,2016). Like for the case of Rebecca, she responds to anxiety via self-injury as well as using purges and laxatives after taking large meals which can lead to self-harm. The symptoms of Rebecca do not fully confer obsessive-compulsive and other disorders related to it but that she is clinically under distress. She only feels in life because of her performance, weight and her new look which makes boys to lose interest in her. Given the symptoms of Rebecca do not indicate a particular disorder, her suffering is not specific when it comes to Obsessive -Compulsive, and it’s related disorders ( Dziegielewski , 2015). To reduce stress from what she goes through, Rebecca uses alcohol and cannabis.
