PHI 105 Topic 7 DQ 1
Critical thinkers interrogate their philosophies as well as those of other people. From them, they formulate reasoned arguments and express their beliefs in a coherent language. I have used critical thinking to understand myself. Knowing oneself comes with experience. I can look at my strengths and weaknesses which allow me to explore my interests and limitations. I get to trust myself by seeing the inner nature and character of what I am. (Elder, & Paul, 2001). My thinking skills have helped me select how to express my purpose. My emotions have helped me in analyzing and prioritizing what is important for me like career, family, or religion, to get a clear value in life. I see what to live for in life. Many times have scrutinized my interests and abilities. I have assessed the comments and suggestions my friends offer. Using comparison and contrast techniques, I have evaluated the priorities and values to help shape my attitudes and actions. These have input much in identifying personal value systems. (Elder, & Paul, 2001).
