PSY 100 Topic 2 DQ 2
Discuss your results from the EQ assessment. How do your results provide insight into how you interact with family members, friends, and coworkers? What advice would you give to someone who had a low EQ? How could they improve their EQ? Please use appropriate citation and reference from the readings and/or videos for this week’s topic.
My score of 65/100 suggested an average EI. I have worked hard along with my family and friends help to get over hindrances that take place. As with my co-workers, I find a effective relationship with them and always acknowledge with them in reality what can or cannot be change at a particular time (Characteristics of an Emotional Healthy Person, 2002). How I adjust to life events and how I get in touch with their emotions may be why family, friends, and co-workers come to me to talk. I am always willing to listen to what they have to say. This is the advice I would give to someone who has a low EQ is to have empathy when listening to people talk. Take in consideration on past situations that they may have experienced in their lifetime and not to judge their actions, but respected their feelings. They can also improve when they balance feelings with reason and reality. Do we ask many questions when we meet someone? Is this considered being friendly or a lack of empathy toward the person?
