Introduction

In any business, marketing is one of the essential things that lead to its success. It enables the company to advertise and promote their products. The consumers will always consider the products they are constantly reminded of its existence. Not all forms of marketing are successful, but rather, they depend on how the message is portrayed to the consumers. The power of persuasions is required to win as many customers as possible. The company needs to employ the right people in the marketing department who will be creative enough to promote the commodities to earn significant profits (Kotler et al., 2015). To determine this, the qualities of a person are studied to know their worth for the position.

Candidate 1

The first candidate has a vast experience of twenty years in the field of marketing. The experience will be essential to the company (O’Cass, A., & Morrish, S, 2016). It means that he is well familiar with what is required in that field to ensure the company succeeds. The many years of working have given him different knowledge that makes his marketing strategies unique. The candidate will be able to choose the right methods of marketing that will not cost the company a lot of expenses.

The candidate is willing to work in the position for a competitive base salary plus a one-week extra vacation as part of his benefits package. The preposition is not wrong but rather considerable. The position requires one to spend his time on the internet looking for other new methods to capture the attention of the consumers. He also needs to keep track of the competition side to ensure the business remains competitive in the market. The request for extra vacation days might affect the performance of the industry due to the gap he will be leaving at the company. The efforts in his work will determine the competitive base salary.

The marketing department requires much of one’s time, and the more they are available, the better the progress. The candidate is willing to work at a flexible schedule. It means that he will be able to work at night and also on weekends. The company will benefit from the extra working hours, and its image will also improve. The candidate’s will, to work any time will be used as an added advantage.

Candidate 2

The candidate has experience of six years in the line of marketing. The experience has taught him great strategies in the range of work. As compared to the first candidate with a twenty years’ experience, this might not be used as a competitive trait in the position. The candidate will need to have another better thing that will make his request approval. Working experience has given his techniques to enable him to market a business in the competitive market.

To accept the job position, he was requesting a competitive base salary plus a company smartphone and paid internet service at home. The requests made are reasonable, but maybe the company is not able to provide them. The application of a company smartphone with an upgrade every year will lead to incurring extra costs to the industry. Any business aims to make large profits and minimizes their expenses (Strebel, P., Cording, M., & Shan, J, 2016). Paying his home internet will also not be a form of advantage to the candidate.

The candidate prefers to work from home. This will give him enough time to do his work with a conducive environment. At home, he will be able to concentrate on his job due to a lack of destructions from workmates.

The best decision for the company

The company will need to look at the two candidates to determine who will be fit for the job. It should first consider the one with considerable experience in the position. The candidate with many experienced years of work will have enough skills in the field that will enable him to make appropriate choices. He will be able to retain the company’s image in the competitive market. Also, in case of any problem, he will be quick to make the right decision to solve the issue at hand. The best choice for the company is to pick the first candidate.

The other thing that makes the first candidate qualify for the position is his demands. Unlike the second candidate request for a company’s smartphone and paid home internet, the first one is willing to work only for the base salary and an extra week vacation. The request is considerable, and the company will not be incurring other additional costs.

The availability of a person in the workplace will lead to the improvement of his work. The first candidate is willing to work at nights and on weekends. His availability will lead to the identification of new marketing ways that will lead to the success of the business. Increased working hours are an advantage to the company. The availability of the candidate in the workplace will enable interaction with the other workers who might help him to identify what is needed to improve on his works. It will also help him consult other employees before making any decision that will affect the company. The company’s decision will determine its performance in the market, and thus, they should select the best employees to enable great success in the company.
