Benchmark – Process Addiction Treatment Paper
View the “Process Addictions Case Studies” media piece.
Step 1
In the media piece, select one of the following case studies:
John (gambling addiction)
Marsha (eating disorder)
Robert (sexual addiction)
In the media piece, watch the video that is associated with the case study you selected. In the video, you will be selecting questions to ask your client from an interactive clipboard.
Step 2
After you have interviewed the client, review the notes for the client listed in Step 2 of the media piece.
Step 3
After reviewing the client notes, conduct research for treating the client using the resources provided in Step 3 of the media piece.
Write a 1,250-1,500-word paper in which you develop treatment strategies for the client in the case study. Include the following in your paper:
Assess the physiological impact of the addiction on the client.
Assess the psychological impact of the addiction on the client.
Assess specific psychosocial issues to consider.
Assess the Stage of Change the client is in.
Identify family issues facing the client.
Identify possible medical issues.
Propose strategies interventions for treating the client.
Assess potential obstacles to treatment.
Identify community supports in your local community that could be used to support the client.
Propose aftercare strategies.
Include a minimum of five scholarly references in addition to the textbook in your paper.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
