Kaminski (2009) argues that leader can be trained though some people think leaders are only born. National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) has training programmes to make students of athletics more confident and develop leadership skills. Youssef and Noon (2012) also state the same principles. All of these authors want to say that a positive environment can make someone a leader.

It is true that an individual can develop a lot if he has the right personality as it can help the person gain confidence and learn how to use intelligence and dominance. Budding leadership is helped most in this way. To become successful as leader, one needs to have decisive knowledge, skills, appropriate personality and other abilities.

Youssef and Noon (2012) mention that there are differences between the roles of leaders and managers. The task of managers is to develop plans with some goals and then monitor the implementation process as well as maximize the use of resources available. However, leaders set up a vision and then they inspire others to act in a way so that the vision is realized. The similarity between the two roles is that both needs leadership qualities as well as managerial qualities. So both the manager and the leader share characteristics.

Communication is one great aspect that may get affected by the way a leader or a manager communicates. Communication style is an important aspect. For example, a leader must have very effective style of communication.

Youssef and Noon (2012) state that the present day leaders have to able to process information by using a variety of means like email, SMS, social media, phone call or meeting. To become a successful manager or leader, one has to be ready not to get distracted from the real message. He should be able to comprehend the real message within a short time. You cannot expect a corporation to grow vast without effective communication.
