Describe three to five different ways in which a psychologist or counselor may acquire or maintain competence in a specific area of practice. Does supervision play a role in any of the ways you described? Explain.
Answer:
The three choices I choose to describe different ways in which a psychologist or counselor may acquire or maintain competence in a specific area of practive, choice number one would be a grievance counser psychologist in which the help people with the loss of recently deceaced loves ones,number two would be rehabilitation counselor in which they assist with the recovery of clients both physically and mentally, and number three would be counseling psychologist in which they make work in an array of social science related jobs such as schools,grouphomes for children and adults,and at private arenas such as a youth center or kids designed programs. I do believe supervision plays a major role in the specific areas I desribed, because it is always good to have a supervisor or senior psychologist to come in on a session to make sure all guildlines and moral ethics are being properly executed and it gives the newly hired psychologist the opportunity to show their superiors that that they there jobs and it gives the senior psychologist or supervisor to give you pointers and address any issusses that you make be having as far as pratical moral and ethical protocol.
