PSY 530 Module 2 DQ 1
In what ways do the typical attributions of people from collectivistic cultures differ from those of people from individualistic cultures? Why do these differences exist? Provide empirical evidence supporting your explanations.
Answer:
Collectivistic cultures stress on the importance of the community whereas the individualistic culture focuses more on the rights and concerns of each individual person. The differences exist because of our how we were brought up it isalso a learned behavior and these differences also exist because of our heritage, social upbringing, and the cultural background from which we come from.
Emperical evidence would be that in african villages the elders of the tribes look after everyone in the village to make sure everyone especially the children and women are safe all of the men go out to gather food for the entire village this would be emperical evidence of collectivistic cultures in short in american individualistic cultures focuses more on self than helping out your communities I would say that this is a selfish culture.
