UNV 108 Week 1 Topic 1 Discussion Question 2

After reading chapter 1 in your text as well as other readings in Topic 1, discuss what sparked your interest. Please provide specific examples from the readings. How will you implement these in your college career?

From the “good” example, I think I’m doing well with grammar and formatting. I always go back after writing a paper and double check all the grammar and punctuations, just in case I missed something. It also helps that on Microsoft word it has spell check, however, it doesn’t catch everything and that is why I go over and double check it myself. Formatting differs a lot depending on what type of paper you’re writing and to whom you are sending it to. As long as I make sure how the formatting needs to be done, I would say I can format papers pretty well.

From the “Non” example, I don’t think I do any of those things. At least I sure hope not! I would never write a paper like I do a text message! Even if I accidently type it out like a text I notice write away and fix it. That’s also what proof reading is for! I also would never plagiarize a paper, I always state my own words, or if I quote another site I make sure to put where I got it from. One thing that I might do sometimes that I could work on is sticking to the topic. Sometimes, I’ll go off talking about one thing for awhile.
