What are some potential consequences if a professional has loose or poor professional boundaries? What are some factors that may make it difficult to maintain professional boundaries?

Answer:

Potential consequences from professionals that may endure from poor or loss of professional boundaries are that the profesional may mis-diagnose the patient or client which could result in more dire situations other factors may include feelings of betrayal by the client,the potential to become unethical,anbandoned,and poorly served.Potential factors may include losing family,license or and certified credentials also other leading factors are that psychologist may make it diificult to maintain professional boundaries include dual relationships which consist of the professional and the client may know each other in a personal setting, value conflicts which may consist of the clients choices,history,feelings,lifestyle and or life circumstances that may conflict with the professionals values, and knowledge about what is best for the client specific trauma,and playing the hero role insisting that the professional has the need to”save the client”.Poor team work can be a contributing factor as well and may also hinder the positive construct of staying within your professional boundaries.
