Discuss why it is important to maintain professional boundaries when working within the field of psychology?

Answer:

It is very important to maintain professional boudaries in the field of psychology because it is a healthy for the client and psychologist alike and it is also important because to be competent in your specialty of psychology in which you choose to work, although psychologist teach,provide services,and do research most of them are in specific areas within the field of psychology,according to training,experience,also study or professional experience. Most importantly is is very detrimental to maintain professional boudaries within the field of psychology because a psychologist may mis-diagnose a client or misinterpet the client needs due to them not being properly trained in that specific area of the field. Maintaining professional boundaries within the field of psychology also coincides with the preamble,the code of conduct, and the principles in which we have studied.Psychologist are are held up the moral and ethical standards which are govern by (APA).and the importance of boudaries are maintained in psychology do lead to healthier physical and emtional safety as well as staying focused on responsibility to the client and are beneficence nomaleficence.Proper professional boundaries in psychology also include knowing your concentration within the field of psychology and being knowledgeable in their area of study within the field of psychology
