Word Picture

Abstract

Kudler Fine Foods (KFF), a specialty foods store located in the San Diego area, is requesting a Web store to provide an online ordering system for their clients. Team B, taking the request and analyzing and researching possible options for KFF, has come up with some recommendations. This paper outlines those findings.

A database system using MySQL as the base will enable KFF to keep track of sales, clients, products, and rankings. MySQL is an open-source database system that is customizable for the organization implementing it. An e-commerce shopping cart, Zen Cart, using PHP as its basis, is the recommendation of choice by Team B. Zen Cart is easy to use, easy to install, and easy to maintain. Choosing server side validation versus client side will provide KFF with a means to control the on line store and provide full access to every client.

Through these recommendations and the use of following Web standards, Team B is positive they can build a Web store that KFF will be proud to call their own.
